I couldn’t tell you the last time I clicked the Blogger button I have in my bookmark bar. I also couldn’t tell you the last time I baked something new, or cared enough to take a hundred pictures in a restaurant. November has been a silent month on The Small Slice and I’m a little disappointed in myself for that. The third year of a degree really isn’t light work. Throw an internship and a job on top of that and we have the reason for my absence.
However, December is a new chapter, a chapter that starts tomorrow (already, eeeek!). I’ve got some big plans for the blog this December, and even more exciting ones for January.
I have had a few adventures to share from November, starting with Craft, North Greenwich. They’re an all singing and dancing restaurant/bar/café, roasting and grinding their own coffee, baking their own breads and curing their meat in their very own smokehouse!
The lovely lads at Rich Tea Films invited my friend Fiona and I for drinks (and a bread basket I couldn’t resist) one afternoon and it was fabulous. The wonderful people at Craft also helped me out immensely with a uni project I’ll be sharing next year!
Mother and I took a trip to Brick Lane one rainy Saturday afternoon to Fika! We both ordered the burger which came with hand cut chips, washed down with a hot chocolate and cappuccino – bonus foodie points to Fika for stocking soya milk!
Last up, and most recently, Dishoom Shoreditch! It’s been on my restaurant list for a while after spotting it first on Instagram. I’ve really got my eye on their breakfast menu but I went in the evening for dinner with my friend Meghan. We ended up with quite a fair bit of food but, after the hour queue wait, we had absolutely no issues devouring everything: lamb samosas, calamari, roomali roti, plain naan, chicken ruby curry and a chicken tikka biryani.
We were in the basement with virtually no light at all and very closely packed tables, so there aren’t any pictures to share besides this of our Bombay Colada cocktails!
So that’s November wrapped up! There’s even more food action that doesn’t always make it to the blog on Instagram – @TheSmallSlice!
Back soon x
I can't wait to read more! I'm loving your dining blog post so much!
Thank you so much! Hopefully a new post up tomorrow 🙂
