Where the treetops glisten

Only 10 days until Christmas! Eeeek!

Last weekend, Mother and I set off in the search for our first ever real Christmas tree. We found one at our local farm shop, laid it through the length of the car, and ferried it home.

Theresa, as it has been named, took a few days to decorate as mum is very particular about the placement of each and every decoration.

There are decorations and sparkles all over my kitchen and living rooms. Little ornaments like this Santa hanging on the kitchen windowsill.

I remember when I started taking pictures on my first ever point-and-shoot camera, they were usually nature shots. Close ups of interesting flowers in my garden, insects with wings, or chasing squirrels.

Lots of my pictures of flowers were of they pollen, or details on the leaves. I have no idea where this brief period of plant fascination came from, but it came back to me when I started taking these pictures.

One of my favourite decorations. Carrie Bradshaw would be proud.

Then somebody wanted to play…

“Oh look, a football.”

“And I’ll have this one too, thank you.”

“How did that get over there? I have no idea.”
