Motivating me

This time last year I wrote I am a carbohydrate junkie. I’m afraid nothing much has changed on that front and I’m still as much in love with them as ever. I’m trying to cut back at the moment, all in the name of weight loss (as usual) but without following a diet of any sort. I can’t do “proper diets”, I just can’t be bothered.

You can get hours of motivational material online. Instagram, Pinterest, bloggers and even from your friends. It’s amazing how popular some super simple and easily accessible apps have become and the reach you can have with it. There are pages and pages on anything you could possibly imagine, with enough motivational pictures and quotes floating around for a lifetime. I follow a fair few, some of which I thought I’d share, whose recipes, images and information have been pushing me through in my resolutions for the new year.

Food

Dana of @minimalistbaker is currently writing her cookbook. Daily teases of recipes to come as well as examples of some of the dishes she has already mastered on her Instagram and blog. For health, fun and vegan goodness, visit her here! She believes in chocolate waffles for lunch – winner!

There’s also expert vegan Emily at This Rawsome Vegan Life – I tried one of her recipes in my 2014 April round up.

There’s homemade health for the whole family with @tracyshutterbean. Personal recipes for her family and amazing lunch ideas, mostly for her son Cooper, but easily adapted for the larger appetite. Lover of sticky notes and Sharpie pens, Tracy is clearly super organised and believes in meal preparation. If you’re joining me on a health kick this new year then you’ll probably really benefit from Cooper’s lunch box posts.

If you don’t want to eat in, eat out.

Not everything has to be lean and green. Despite my efforts to eat healthier and cleaner this year, I’m also hoping to eat my way around more of London. As you may have read, this has already begun at Bird. If you’re anything like me, reviews are everything when choosing somewhere to eat. There are so many places to eat in London it’s hard to choose where to start, which is when I turn to @clerkenwellboyec1. Honestly, just go and have a look. If you’re not hungry now, you’re about to be.

Fitness

Nothing makes me want to get out of bed and go for a run like seeing someone has already beat me to it. Most mornings that is @northsouthgirl. I open my eyes to check my phone in the mornings and Sarah has already done 7 miles, and that’s just the journey to the gym. I don’t know where she gets her energy (all the delicious food she includes too maybe?) but I need some.

Blogging

If your resolutions for the new year have anything to do with blogging, be it getting started, keeping going, or refreshing your content, Media Marmalade is the blog for you. Melissa has a daily rotation of posts including fashion, beauty and media. If one of your aims is to blog daily, there are great tips here for keeping organised and planning ahead.

Fashion, food, health, travel and more; Rosie’s got it all. Currently in Italy, Rosie blogs at The Londoner around the world making us all very jealous. With a recently revamped website, you can easily navigate to a particular category of posts or just get stuck in with a bit of everything. Following her Instagram also gives you an insight in to her day to day doings too. Warning: she’s gorgeous.
